All of them are designed to make sure the lab’s chromatography instrumentation is working at full capacity. Other benefits include better budget planning for repair services, multi-vendor support from one partner, and the alleviation of unplanned downtime. Read on for more information!
Which HPLC Instrument OEMs Do We Support?
Having a multi-vendor partner like Full Spectrum Lab Services from CBRE could be the answer to your frustrations. We work with a variety of OEMs to give you one contract (less paperwork), and better budget planning. Think of us as fellow chemists or techs. We’ve all worked in the lab and we know the common issues that a lab can run into.
Ongoing HPLC Repair Service Contracts
Full Spectrum Lab Services from CBRE is great at asking the right questions to get lab managers into the right repair service contract. Our 48-hour onsite guarantee is something that our customers value greatly (because waiting 2-3 weeks for HPLC repair service can be extremely frustrating). When you’re on contract with Full Spectrum Lab Services from CBRE, you’re pushed right up to the front of the line when you need to be. These service contracts usually have a couple of main components:
1. Parts & Labor Inclusions
If you have deemed your HPLC instrument as critical to your lab’s daily operations, we always suggest a contract that includes parts and labor. Preventative maintenance (PM) is very important, but some lab managers like to plan for their entire annual repair and maintenance budget. With a contract that includes a mix of parts & labor with planned preventative maintenance, it’s rare that you’ll have any surprise costs throughout the year.
2. HPLC Maintenance (Planned Preventative Maintenance)
Preventative maintenance for your high-performance liquid chromatography instrumentation is the key to its longevity. Regularly scheduled maintenance can sometimes uncover deeper issues that have the potential to cause downtime in the future. At Full Spectrum Lab Services from CBRE, we know that PM can take your instrument out of the rotation for a day or two — that’s why we like to be flexible for you. If you need us to reschedule planned preventative maintenance services, no problem! We’re happy to reschedule your PM for a time that is more convenient for you.
Onsite PM Visits
Another great thing about scheduling a PM with Full Spectrum Lab Services from CBRE is that one of our skilled engineers will be on-site to perform the HPLC maintenance! This is a great time to bring up any issues you have been experiencing, such as noisy baselines or low flow pressures. Planned preventative maintenance can be an opportunity to flush out any needed repairs. Again, the point of the ongoing service contract is to alleviate surprise costs (by having a fixed budget for all PM and repair needs).
One-Time HPLC Repair Services
If you’re experiencing critical HPLC performance issues (beyond the common problems one can run into), contact us for a service request.
Our sales department works directly with our engineers to address your issues quickly so we can alleviate as much downtime in your lab as possible. These types of repairs are normally performed on-site by one of our experienced engineers, and the first step is to run a series of diagnostics to isolate the issue(s).
Once we identify the problem, our HPLC service engineer will order up a series of required parts to execute the fix. Full Spectrum Lab Services from CBRE is also an industry-leading supplier of HPLC parts, so we have our own warehouse with a healthy inventory of pumps, pump seals, detectors, heaters, thermostats, and more that we manage in-house. Chances are, the parts we need to fix your HPLC instrument are in stock and ready to go. After the fix is in place, we run a series of tests to validate that the instrumentation is working accurately and efficiently.
HPLC Qualification Services (IQ/OQ/PQ)
Qualification for your HPLC instrumentation needs to happen at many stages within the instrument’s life cycle, and many industries require qualification at regular intervals. For the highly regulated pharmaceutical industry, even small errors in output data can lead to dangerous consequences. This is where Full Spectrum Lab Services from CBRE comes in.
IQ
Installation Qualification
Installation Qualification is a well-documented validation process that ensures the proper conveyance, installation, and configuration of your HPLC instrumentation (based upon a manufacturer-approved list).
OQ
Operational Qualification
Operational Qualification is also common when it comes to HPLC instrumentation quality assurance. This step involves testing the instrument to make sure it is performing as specified by the OEM.
PQ
Performance Qualification
PQ is about addressing equipment performance within the OEM’s documented ranges in “actual” conditions. A detailed test plan should be created, and the plan must create reproducible results.
